Spring 2022 is here!! Finally! Although we had a great winter and holiday season, I am so so SO happy spring is finally making an appearance. Christmas was great, New Years was great. The bitter freezing cold of February was awful and carried into March; but here we are now, on the cusp of April 1 and spring weather everyday. Time for gardening, enjoying the pool, and backyard grilling. Oh, and travel!!
We were so lucky to get away for spring break this year! We try really hard to take mini trips and experience other places. This time we snuck away to one of our favorite places, San Antonio!! We have been there several times but this time around we opted to only do things we haven’t done before. Eat at new restaurants and go to different places. We drove down later in the morning and arrived in perfect timing to catch an IMAX showing of The Batman. Admittedly, after sitting in the car for 6 hours sitting for that long of the movie wasn’t the best of ideas; however we all really enjoyed it and was a good start to our time away.
The next morning we opted for a morning at the farmers market at The Pearl and then headed over to Hopscotch. Convincing the girls to go to an art museum on spring break was tricky but after showing them a couple pictures they were open to trying it out. We all LOVED it. We haven’t been to an interactive museum since they were both too young to really enjoy it. This was more fun than any of the times we went when they were younger. The art exhibits were all really cool and have amazing interactive experiences. Afterward, we went to lunch at Rosario’s Mexican Restaurant and then hung out at Yanaguana Garden park. The food was great but had an extremely long wait time. The park was really cool and extremely family friendly. Various yard activities and tons of playground area. Highly recommend. The rest of trip was a bit of a flop. We attempted to do Six Flags Fiesta Texas but the wait times were insane! After 1.5 hours we gave up and went to lunch. Then went back to our hotel and vegged out for a bit. Decided to have sweet treats and watch a movie in our room. It was actually perfect to just all sit and relax together. Low key evening enjoying our time away!

Now we are back in the swing of sports. Volleyball, soccer, and track will keep us busy till the end of school! Plus a pretty big change for me beginning in May. Then time for a summer trip…..
